I’m an out-of-network provider, which means I don’t bill insurance directly—but many of my clients get a portion of their session fee reimbursed through their out-of-network benefits.

To make this easy, I partner with Thrizer, a free tool that helps you check your benefits, handles insurance claims for you, and can even reduce your upfront cost by only charging you your estimated copay (if eligible).

• Pay upfront or just your copay:

  • With standard use, you’ll pay my full session fee upfront ($280), and Thrizer will submit claims to your insurance so you can get reimbursed directly.

  • If you’re eligible for Thrizer Pay, you’ll only be charged your estimated copay, and Thrizer will pay me in full and wait for your insurance reimbursement themselves.

• Get reimbursed automatically:
  Thrizer handles all the claim paperwork and communicates with your insurance provider so you don’t have to.

If calling your insurance directly, ask them the following questions:

• Do I have out-of-network outpatient mental health coverage? Am I able to use these benefits for telehealth?

• Do I have an out-of-network deductible? (And if so, what is it and have I met it yet)?

• What percentage of out-of-network outpatient psychotherapy sessions are covered per session?

• Do I need a referral from an in-network provider to see someone out-of-network?

• How much will I be reimbursed for a 45 minute out-of-network psychotherapy session (CPT code: 90834)?

• How do I submit claim forms for reimbursement?

• What is the timeline for receiving reimbursement once service claims have been submitted?

I reserve a limited number of sliding scale spots in my schedule. If you don’t think you can afford my full private pay rate, please don’t hesitate to reach out. If I’m unable to offer you a sliding scale spot, I will be happy to place you on my waitlist or offer referrals to trusted clinicians. I accept credit cards, debit cards, flexible spending accounts and health savings accounts.

Your appointment time will be reserved for you on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, based on what we determine together. There is no charge if you cancel or reschedule your appointment with at least 24 hours notice. Cancellations within 24 hours will be processed at your full session fee.

All sessions are conducted virtually with a HIPAA compliant video system that is super easy to use.

My Massachusetts clinical social work license requires that my clients are physically located in the state of Massachusetts during our session times.
